Sizing coding languages by the amount of developers that use them shows that JavaScript and HTML/CSS are clearly the most-used languages in 2022.

Plotting them along an axis makes this even clearer, showing that 33,929 developers use JavaScript. Most languages in the survey aren’t used by more than 5000 developers.

When plotting languages developers want to work with against languages developers have worked with, we can see that a high number of developers want to work with Rust and Go, even though not many have worked with them in the past.

Displaying the languages along a time axis and sizing by number of developers that want to learn them, we can see that the most sought-after languages aren't necessarily the newest.

Here are the languages plotted by year of inception and sized by number of children.

At Flourish, we work with some of the most popular coding languages.
